CARE NOTES
Skincare actives (non-prescription)
Do not start, increase, or stop medication from this page. Prescription drugs, hormones, and some skincare actives can cause lasting harm.
Daily sunscreen is still the most stable step. Spots, redness, and fine lines all track UV. Brightening products do not replace SPF.
Retinoids can help turnover and pores, and they can also dry, redden, and peel. Start infrequent. Do not stack with strong acids the same night.
Azelaic acid and niacinamide are often mentioned for redness and oil; AHAs/BHAs sting more. If the barrier is thin, repair moisture first.
Prescription topicals (some tretinoin, steroid creams) follow a clinician. Strong steroids on the face can rebound and create dependence.
